ANDREW'S BY THE POND in Wading River is a different kind of steakhouse. Its executive chef, John Fritz, was once the chef and owner of La Primavera in East Hills and has talents beyond firing up a grill.

The menu starts off with appetizers such as Maryland-style crabcakes with a shrimp sauce and sesame-crusted seared tuna with soy honey reduction.
Soups include French Onion and Soup Du Jour. Andrew's Salad features a mesclun mix with bleu cheese crumbles and creamy balsamic vinaigrette.
Hazelnut and parmesan-crusted swordfish, orange, and horseradish crusted wild Atlantic salmon with port wine are among the seafood lovers favorite choices.
All desserts are made on premises including creme brulee (flavors change weekly), warm chocolate lava cake and a Strawberry Shortcake Parfait.
